As Told Over The Bayside Skillet Brunch

August was a hell of a month for me. I went down to Virginia Beach for a Florida Georgia Line concert, accepted a new job, went to Italy, went to Connecticut and then to Ocean City. Needless to say, by the time I made it to Maryland, I was ready to breathe. 

My ex-roommate, famed Liz from a future post hinted at previously called, 'Living with Liz,' just bought (well, her parents, but close enough) a condo in Ocean City. So this beach trip was perfect because the beach is inherently relaxing. Plus, it's even more relaxing knowing you don't have to cram everything into one trip since we'll be able to go back.

One thing I didn't want to wait for was The Bayside Skillet. I have a thing for kitschy (which means tacky but in an ironic or intended way). My kitchen is kitschy, and this restaurant reminded me of what my kitchen would be if I lived on the beach and cooked omelets and crepes. And when I say 'remind,' I mean pretty loosely. My kitchen is all about yellow with hits of bright colors, and theirs was pink with accents of strawberries.

Anyway, we stroll in there on our way back into Richmond, and I respond, "Outside," when they ask where I want to sit.

Bayside Skillet Seating Pro Tip: Sit Outside

The Bayside Skillet sits on the bay side of the street (whoa, unexpected I know). And the bay is gorgeous, which is what your view will be if you sit outside on the patio. 

The only time it's reasonable to not listen to this tip is in extreme weather, or if you're hangry and there's a wait to sit outside. Or if you hate pretty sights. 

Bayside Skillet Pro Tip #2: Order Savory and Sweet

I love splitting brunch with people because you can try more dishes. If there's someone willing, get a crepe and an omelet. Another ex-roommate of Lauren (who was never promised a blog post about her but maybe one day will get one anyways) agreed to my plot. In unison, we picked out the buffalo chicken omelet and the dirty banana royale crepe. 

Let me repeat that BUFFALO CHICKEN OMELET. That's my favorite food tucked in eggs to create the perfect combination of lunch and breakfast. 

My Bayside Skillet Review

YUM. YES. GO TO BAYSIDE SKILLET. The Bayside Skillet is where to brunch in Ocean City, Maryland. The omelet was enormous and FILLED with chicken. Plus, the omelet comes with their basic crepe, which was buttery and delicious. And the filled crepes? Incredibly sweet and creamy. Plus, the views are gorgeous, the waitstaff is prompt and the menu options are robust.

I don't know when I'll be back in Maryland, but when I am, I hope this is a stop during my weekend.
